Step 3: make a look-moodboard

This time is about inspiration and imagination. We want to create your own look-moodboard, to get a graphic impression of how you want to look. To make your wants and needs concrete. Therefore you take a couple of magazines (not necessarily only fashion magazines) and your notebook if you have a printer, a big piece of paper (at least A3), a scissor, a pen and some glue and the style words we wrote down last time. Start tear out pages with styles, items, colours you like. Then think about whose style you admire and want to borrow elements from and why. It doesn’t make a difference if it’s a fictional person like a character of a movie or just a celebrity whose look you like. It can be and should be more them one! But be aware of not becoming a replica of someone. It’s great to get inspiration and ideas from others but make them your own! Find pictures from these persons, print them and put them to the other pages. Now take your piece of paper, draw down sections for the different occasions like job, your spare time, evening occasions … Cut out the looks, impressions from the pages and glue them on the sections you want them for. If one is for more then one section an option, glue it closer to the border. If you have done that, cut out your style words and glue them on top of the looks. Finished? Take a step back and get an impression of your own style inspiration board. We need it next time if it comes to building outfits and you can always have a look on it if you feel inspiration less.   Have fun Xoxo Johara
