How to make the best of your figure

I’m pretty sure you all know that: You see someone who really tried it, maybe she really wanted to be trendy and wears the newest it-pieces or she just wanted to look classic, but it didn’t work. It just looks curious and unflattering. Just makes you think something like “Why in hell did she choose that blouse” or “Why is she wearing that pants?” Because that person chooses an outfit that underlines her body at the wrong parts! And maybe you are unsure about you own body or just want to deepen your knowledge, what flatters you and let you look the best you can and what not. Then this new series of articles is perfect for you. It will bring you a deeper understanding of your body proportions, about what is hot and what not for you and many more things. So let’s get down to business! First of all it’s not about sizes! You can look hot as hell with a 34 as well as with a 40. It’s about symmetry, body proportions, about being confident and loving your body! At the hands of our viewing habits, our social coinages and our biological instincts we perceive symmetry and balanced proportions as beautiful and attractive. But most people don’t have balanced proportions, even models – they’re just so skinny that it’s not so obvious. Here comes fashion into play! Not only that you can play with it and define yourself new every day, it also can create well balanced proportions on everyone. You just have to know how to use it the right way! Clothes are the perfect illusionists! To gain the best out of “what your mama gave you” you have to enhance your understanding of your body! Only if you are aware of every part of it, you can really work with your wardrobe. First step is to class yourself in one of the five main body-shapes: vase, candle, wineglass, hourglass and champagne flute (also known as pear, banana, apple, hourglass and strawberry – I personally don’t like to compare myself to fruits, that’s why I made my own system) Bodyshapes This classification will give you some general advices where to focus on and what to avoid in general – our topic for next week. After that we will go more into your individual details! Xo Johara
