How to make the best of your body part 4

Last week we have got to know our body from another side, apart from clothes sizes and circumferences. We figured out how our body is proportioned. Now we will see how we can use this knowledge to create a well proportioned body. Let’s first talk about the head shoulder proportions. If your head is twice-wider as your shoulders, you can work against it with things like shoulder pads, boat necklines, decorative elements on the shoulder, bulky sleeves etc. Head shoulder proportions If the opposite is the case, you should stay away from things which underline your shoulders, instead work with your hair, add volume, create hairstyles that lift your head a bit up and avoid hairstyles that lower your hairline, like straight fringes etc.Head Shoulder proportions, wide shoulders   Now we talk about the 4 body parts. The first thing to know is that the big parts are the places to bring the attentions. Like in a flat you wouldn’t bring big, flashy furniture in the smallest room you have, you would try to keep the small room clean to let it look bigger and you would bring your creativity in the big room. It’s the same with your body: pull the focus to the big areas and keep the smaller ones simple. O.k., let’s get concrete.   Let’s say part A is the biggest one. Great! Present your jewellery collection, the bigger the better! (If it suits your character of cause) Wear a scarf wrapped around your neck several times, or with bows and knots. Choose dresses, shirts etc. with flashy collars.Body proportions   If part A is the smallest, try to extend the vertical with long single-row necklaces, wear a scarf open without bows, knots and don’t wrap them around your neck. Try to avoid details on the shoulders. Shawl collars also can extend the vertical line.body proportions   Is B the biggest part? Enhance your waist, with flashy belts, sashes, dresses with accents on the waist. Wear different colours on bottom and top. Short jackets are a good idea was well.body proportions   The smallest part is B? Prefer to wear belts on the hips and pants and skirts with lower waistbands. Jackets and dresses with a lower placed waistline are a good option as well. Longer tunics, jackets and tops can extend too.body proportions   C is the longest part of your body? Shorter skirts are perfect for you. Place eye catchers in that area, like embroideries or decorated hemlines. You can also try to give that part an own colour.Body proportions   C is smaller than the rest? Avoid short skirts. Prefer knee-length- or calf-length skirts. Don’t choose skirts with marked hemline.body proportions   The longest part is D? Go for flashy shoes and boots, slingbacks, ankle boots, pants or tights with details on the shinbones or calves. Great for you are Capri pants and calf length skirts.body proportions   If D is the shortest part, wear long pants or choose shoes and tights in the same colour as your skirt. Avoid pattern and details in that area. Slingbacks are not a good choice, prefer low cut pumps.body proportions     Now to exercise 3: As we said last week, if upper and lower body are the same, you have nothing to worry about as well as when your legs are longer. If your upper body is longer then your legs, try to ease that part by wearing horizontal stripes, a belt, shorter jackets. Bring the attention up. Try to avoid eny horizontal accents on the legs.to short legs   So we are done! I hope you have now a bit deeper understanding of your body and how you can present him in the proper light. Try to bring all the things you figured out together and you will know what suits you and what not. But most important, don’t let all the does and don’t put you off!! Fashion and getting dressed is first of all about having fun, being creative, getting in touch with new facets of your personality, about trial-and-error! If you like something so badly and you like yourself in it, but you know actually it is not for your body type, go for it! If it’s that one of a kind peace, you are so in love with, who cares that it maybe makes your hips a little wider. All these does and don’t shall give you a bit more surety in what suits you and what not. But shouldn’t rule you! So have fun! Be brave! Create!   Xo Johara
