Step 4: Arranging outfits

Up to now you got rid of the clutter in your closet, get in touch with your wants and needs and visualise your dream look. Now it’s time to get straight down to the nitty-gritty! We want to create outfits of the clothes you have, in a way that they fit to every occasion, to your personality and to the future you want. Maybe you ask a stylish friend to come by and make a styling party! It can be great fun! You are looking on all your remaining, perfect fitting clothes laid out on your bed. Now you start to create, select, combine, invent, refine, edit, change… And please, don’t dare to save beautiful clothes just for special occasions (which might never come). Every occasion is special and worth to wear these beautiful things! So include these pieces in your outfit- building process, find a way to dress them down, mix them with other items that they fit in every occasion. Like a beautiful cocktail dress, worn with boots and a leatherjacket for evening in a nice bar with some friends…. First of all start by thinking of the different occasions you need to dress for like: business, night out, weekend casual, formal… Now start trying. For example take a classic piece like a white button-down and start mixing and matching with other things in your closet. For office event you can for example add a blazer or a cardigan, a pencil skirt or Marlene trousers and some kitten heels and pimp it up with some accessories. For a night out event you can wear it with a fitted skirt, some platform heels and eye-catching jewellery’s. Now try to combine it for weekend casual for example with a perfect fitting jeans, a leather or faux fur vest and riding boots. Make pictures of the outfits you created to keep them in your mind! If you find a lot of combinations, go on to another classical piece to create outfits around it. You will be amazed how many different outfits you can create. Be daring! Try also the not obvious combinations, maybe they are stunning. And nobody will see them until you declare it fits! Unfortunately I’m not there with you, so I can’t tell what goes with what, but therefore we made you look-moodboard. Look on it, get inspired by it, look how your fashion role models combine things. But transfer it to your own style! It’s great to get inspirations of someone, but it’s not the goal to be a replica! Have fun and enjoy the different sides of you! See you next time Xoxo Johara
